ABOUT
My name is Isabella Swartz, and I am a student at the University of Georgia studying public relations. I believe that studying public relations provides valuable skills in effective communication and building relationships while navigating the changing world of media. Since September 2023, I have been a Marketing Intern with Creatives Services for the UGA Gymnastics team. My job initially started as taking videos during practices and uploading them to the social media accounts and slowly grew into live content posting during the meets. From this job, I have learned so much about the responsibility of being a part of a massive platform that over 112,000 people follow. I have gained valuable skills in graphic communication, advertising, and social media. Through my internship, I have realized my dream is to do social media for a major sports team. I was just recently accepted into the Sports Media Certificate that is offered through Grady College’s Carmical Sports Media Institute. I want to continue to take classes that help grow my social media skills as well as learn about all sides of sports media certificate like production, reporting, and broadcasting. Outside of sports journalism, I would also be interested in food blogging. I currently run a food blog on Instagram where I go to local places and try new food and rate them. This has become a passion project for me and has allowed me to try so many diverse types of restaurants and foods. In school, I have made the Dean’s list two out of my three semesters at school, and I am currently working on my bachelor's in public relations from Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communication at the University of Georgia.
